Thiruchendur Murugan Temple is one of the six sacred abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu. Unlike most hill temples of Murugan, this unique shrine is situated by the sea. It is believed that Lord Murugan defeated the demon Surapadman here, and the temple stands as a symbol of that divine victory. The temple is renowned for its spiritual atmosphere, seaside rituals, and grand celebrations during Skanda Sashti and Kanda Shashti Kavacham recitals.
